Frequently Asked Questions
How does the Hound's Table subscription work?
It's simple! You start by filling out our Pet Intake form to profile your dog. Based on their weight and activity level, our system automatically calculates the perfect Full Table or Half Board meal plan. We cook the food fresh in our local kitchen and deliver it to your door twice a week.
How do you calculate my dog's portion sizes?
We use a specialized algorithm that takes into account your dog's exact weight, breed size, and activity level (active, sedentary, or normal). This assigns them to one of our 6 specific weight tiers (from The Petite Table up to The Château Table) ensuring they get the exact calories they need without overfeeding.
Do you cater to dogs with severe allergies?
Yes. During the intake process, you will be asked to list any critical allergies. Our kitchen receives this data directly on the preparation sheets. If your dog has a highly specific allergy that requires a custom protein substitute, please contact us prior to subscribing.
Can I change or cancel my subscription?
Absolutely. You can manage your billing cycle, pause deliveries, or update your payment method via the "Manage Subscriptions" portal in your Customer Dashboard. If you cancel your plan, your dog is automatically removed from our upcoming kitchen prep queue.
How is the food packaged and delivered?
Our meals are cooked fresh, vacuum-sealed in daily portions, and delivered directly to your front door in insulated cooler bags. We route our deliveries every Wednesday and Sunday to ensure your dog always has fresh food on hand.
How does the Cooler Bag Return program work?
To reduce waste, we encourage you to leave your previous delivery's cooler bag out on your next delivery day. When our driver collects the returned bag, an admin will apply a $1 Bag Return Credit to your account, which automatically deducts from your next subscription payment!
Do I need to refrigerate or freeze the meals?
Because we deliver fresh twice a week, you only need to keep the meals in your refrigerator! They are completely preservative-free and will stay perfectly fresh in the fridge for up to 5 days. You may freeze them if you are traveling.
How do I transition my dog to Hound's Table food?
We recommend a 7-day transition period. Days 1-2: 25% Hound's Table / 75% old food. Days 3-4: 50/50 split. Days 5-6: 75% Hound's Table / 25% old food. Day 7: 100% Hound's Table. This gentle transition prevents any digestive upset.
